New chapter at London Gateway Port

Investing in expertise, quality, growth and sustainability

At Ranson we are taking big steps in the United Kingdom. Our move to brand new premises in London Gateway Port marks another milestone for Ranson. This transition not only means a doubling of our capacity, but also marks our commitment to sustainable business practices and our ambition to become the leading partner for artisan and industrial food professionals in the UK.

Capacity doubled

Our current building met our needs for many years. But to further support our ambitious growth, we needed more space - a location that will allow us to realise the next phase of our development. That was exactly why we decided to move to the new buildings in the London Gateway Port.

The new building offers space for no fewer than 3,709 pallets for non-refrigerated storage, as well as 1,370 pallets for refrigerated and frozen products. This extra space allows us to work more flexibly and efficiently, and fits perfectly with our progressive future plans.

The power of the freeport zone for Ranson UK

Our choice to move to London Gateway Port is strategic: it offers us a place within the Thames Freeport Zone. A freeport or free trade zone is a special economic area where goods can be stored, processed or repackaged without import duties, and where businesses can enjoy simplified customs procedures. After Brexit, London Gateway established such a zone to promote trade and increase economic benefits. For example, Ranson UK is in a very efficient location for importing high-quality ingredients straight from the source.

This move is in line with our growing role as an important partner for industrial and artisanal food professionals in the UK. In this way we strengthen our network of long-term trading relationships and we can serve our customers even better and faster.

The force behind Ranson UK

Our dedicated team in the UK currently consists of 28 colleagues, spread across different departments. With the expansion of our activities, it is our intention to further grow this team. In this way we add knowledge and experience to serve our customers even better.

The future of Ranson UK: sustainable, broader and ready for growth

In addition to the enormous increase in storage space and the strategic location, the new building has numerous sustainable features. There are solar panels on the roof and rainwater is collected for internal use. There are also eight charging points for electric cars, which underlines our commitment to the environment and sustainability. In addition, we are going from 10 parking spaces at our old location to 35 spaces at our new location - plenty of space for visitors and our growing team.

With this move we are laying the foundation for a strong future and we aspire to become the partner for food professionals in the UK. We achieve this goal by, on the one hand, focusing on sustainable entrepreneurship. In addition, our wide range includes carefully selected ingredients straight from the source, reliable partner brands and high-quality products that we develop and produce ourselves. It is this unique approach that truly sets us apart and drives our success.

On to a bright future at London Gateway Port!
